Sumospeed - SpringFest 2023

Over the years, I have always heard great things about Sumospeed’s Spring meet, but never had a chance to make it up there - because of car issues, or scheduling or whatever… but this year after talking to a couple friends on Discord (Jordan from Basic Clique & Khris from Atlantic Street Movement), we decided we’d all make the 19 hour drive to Virginia and check it out for ourselves.

First leg of the trip - Saint Cloud, Florida > Orlando, Florida > Daytona Beach, Florida

Of course, we stopped at every Buc-ee’s along the way.

Stopping at South of the Border in South Carolina was the highlight of the whole trip… We were having so much fun taking silly pictures for at least 2-3 hours…We got there when it was dark and left after sunrise.

After our little mini-adventure ; back on the road to Virginia Beach…

And then… after pushing through the night (we left our houses around ~5:30pm) and arrived in Virginia at the convention center ready for load in / roll in (Saturday - the day before the show) and Jordan and Khris got set up.

There were so many cars rolling into the convention center and around the area - it felt kind of crazy because day of the show - I feel like I missed more than half of them that i saw outside, rolling in.

This Z was nuts… It was as if someone saw one of those photoshops of a car with a “lamborghini” turbo kit photoshopped on to the back; but they made it in real life.

I had no idea SumoSpeed had an entire drift team; but they were there in full force and had a giant displace area.

There was a huge variety of cars in the building; from Stance Cars to Race Cars to Drag Cars… Just a little something for everyone

There was also an outdoor strip & an inside the convention center but outside of the hall area - both of those areas were really interesting as well; there seemed to be a ton of quality jammed into one room (right before the entrance to the actual show)

After hours of walking around it was time for roll out - and then a bunch of mystery cars I clearly missed in the show appeared again (same as roll in) —- where did these cars / come from?

Rounding out the Sorcery Photo Coverage of the event with my favorite photo from the show. And then… we loaded everything up, struggled to find somewhere to eat, and got right back on the road to head back to Florida - immediately after the show. Anyways, that’s it for my Sumospeed 2023 Spring Coverage; hope you enjoyed the photos and thank you for visiting the blog.

Photos by Myself & @Nalanie. See you at the Next Event!
